About me
Hello! I’m Nina, founder of Folk Fest Buscador, and a passionate advocate for folk culture and international cultural exchange.
I am a member of:
IOV (International Organization of Folk Art),
CID – International Dance Council (Conseil International de la Danse),
CIOFF (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts),
and serve as Head Delegate for the Balkans for Festifolk World.
Journey
My journey in folklore began at the age of six, as a dancer on stage. Over the years, that path evolved into working behind the scenes — coordinating, organizing, and supporting international folklore tours and festival participation for over 20 years.
Having been a performer myself provides a unique perspective: I understand both the artistic side and the practical challenges groups face when traveling internationally. This experience allows me to recognize what truly works, what to avoid, and how to match each group with festivals that fit their profile, expectations, and capabilities.
What I Do
Folk Fest Buscador is a platform that connects folk dance groups with international festivals.
Depending on the needs of each group, I help you:
- Identify suitable festivals based on your group’s profile
- understand which festivals are relevant for you
- what the requirements are
- check whether your application is complete and properly prepared
- Access verified and up-to-date festival opportunities
- Be guided through the application and selection process
- Coordinate communication with festival organizers
- Assist with travel planning and logistics when needed.
Instead of searching through scattered information, unclear emails, and uncertain responses, you get a single point of contact and a guided process from start to finish. I stay involved throughout the communication with festivals, to help avoid misunderstandings, missed details, and unnecessary back-and-forth.
My role is not just to find festivals, but to protect groups from bad experience and guide them toward safe and well-organized international experiences.
